SSSC have developed a range of eBooks in Apple iBook format (for iPad and Mac computers) and ePub format) for Android tablets and Windows PCs or Chromebook devices. You can see the full range of eBooks on the Available eBooks page.

As you will see, many of the eBooks listed have been available in the past as either iPad or Android tablet apps. Last year we began the process of updating these apps and converting them to eBooks as this format increases access to the resources by making them available on computers as well as tablet devices. Converting them to eBooks also means that we’ll be able to update them more frequently as practice changes.

Although our eBooks are now accessible on computers and Chromebook devices, we would actively discourage viewing them on laptop or desktop computers as most of the learning activities included in them assume that the book is being worked through on a tablet device. This is a deliberate design decision as it is our desire to maximise the transfer of learning from the book to practice and, being able to do the learning in the environment where it will be applied has been shown to be the most effective way of doing that. So, we would suggest that using a tablet device will give the best learning experience with these books.

All of the eBooks produced by SSSC Digital Learning are free to download, as are the eBook readers you’ll need to work through them. The information below will help you find the eBook reader you need for your chosen device.

To access an ebook, you must have an e-reader application installed on your device. Once this is done, you will be able to open the books in your chosen e-reader app.

Please use the pages below to see what ebook readers we recommend for each platform.

Please note: As there are so many different types of Windows PCs and configurations, we cannot provide individual support regarding installation or use of any of these eBook readers. If you require support, please contact your IT support staff or the software vendor.
