This eBook and interactive resource has been developed to introduce you to Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and explain how you can use this to support people who may have behaviours that challenge people around them. It has been written on behalf of the Positive Behaviour Support Community of Practice by experienced PBS practitioners from several organisations in Scotland. These organisations are shown at the start of the book.

It has been designed so you can use it as both a learning resource and for reference, so each chapter can be read as a ‘stand-alone’ source of information about an aspect of PBS. Where any of the chapters refer to another chapter, there are links to enable you to go to the relevant pages.

You will find learning activities throughout and we encourage you to do these as they are designed to help you to see how PBS applies to your own role, whether as a worker or unpaid carer. At the end of each chapter, you have an opportunity to apply for a MyLearning open badge to get recognition for your learning from that chapter. There are more details about how to apply for these in the resource.
