Welcome to the National Early Language and Literacy Resource for everyone working with children in ELC.  A range of recorded Webinars discussing topics of interest and input from learners are provided. We hope all of you will find some new information and useful ideas.


This module encourages you to reflect on your understanding of the term ‘curriculum’ and what it means within our Scottish early learning and childcare sector. We’ll consider our understanding of ‘curriculum’ in its widest sense and Scotland’s curriculum guidance for children aged 3-18 – Curriculum for Excellence.

This module is on tracking and monitoring of children’s learning to ensure continuity and progression, including during key transition stages.

As a practitioner it can be a challenging knowing when a child requires support, knowing when to intervene or not, or judging what the is ‘right’ amount of support to offer. This course is designed to help you develop confidence in your knowledge about practice and legislation, and also how to work with parents and other professionals to identify effective ways of providing additional support to children.
